Step 1:

In a bucket, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with ½ cup ammonia, ½ cup white vinegar and 3 to 4 liters of warm water. Pour the finished mixture into a spray bottle.

Step 2:

Spray the mixture onto your car window.(Don’t be put off by the mixture’s milky texture, Reader’s Digest says. It’s normal.)

Step 3:

Wipe the window with warm water to rinse. Then rub with a dry paper towel or lint-free cloth. Angie’s List also suggests these tips for best window-cleaning results: Try to avoid washing windows when the sun is shining on them, because the cleaning mixture may dry too quickly and leave streaks. Also, try wiping the windows using up-and-down strokes on one side of the window (inside or outside) and side-to-side strokes on the other to tell which side requires extra polishing.

The power of cornstarch doesn’t end with windows. According to Pedals and Pumps, cornstarch can also help deodorize your car upholstery. Sprinkle it on the fabric, let it sit for 30 minutes and then vacuum it up.
